SEO Paths

Every FAQ page, category, and entry is automatically assigned its own SEO path (URL). These URLs improve the discoverability of your content in search engines and allow FAQ content to be linked directly.

How are SEO paths generated?

The SEO path is generated automatically the first time you save the content – based on the content's title and your shop's configured URL schema. There is nothing to enter manually.

Examples of automatically generated paths:

  • FAQ page "Frequently Asked Questions" → /faq
  • Category "Shipping & Delivery" → /faq/shipping-delivery
  • Entry "How long does delivery take?" → /faq/how-long-does-delivery-take

View and check the SEO path

  1. Open the desired FAQ page, category, or entry in the Admin.
  2. Scroll to the Canonical URLs section (for pages) or the SEO path section (for categories and entries).
  3. Select the desired sales channel from the dropdown.
  4. The generated SEO path is displayed.

Note: If no path is shown yet, save the content once. The path is created automatically when saving.

SEO paths for multiple sales channels

If your shop has multiple sales channels (e.g. German and English), the FAQ Manager generates a separate SEO path for each channel. Simply switch the sales channel in the dropdown to see the respective path.

Manually adjusting the SEO path

If the automatically generated path does not meet your requirements, you can overwrite it manually in the SEO settings of the respective content.

Caution: If you change an SEO path after it has been in use, the URL in the shop changes too. Any existing links (e.g. in the navigation, Shopping Experiences, or external sites) must be updated accordingly. Set up a redirect if necessary.

Using SEO paths for navigation

The generated SEO paths are also needed when adding your FAQ page to the shop navigation. More information under Add FAQ page to navigation.
