Note: Available from version 1.5.0
The indexing setting controls whether and how search engines should crawl and index your FAQ pages. The setting is output as a <meta name="robots"> tag in the HTML source code of the page.
Select an indexing option
- Open the desired FAQ page in the Admin.
- Scroll to the SEO section.
- Select the desired option under Indexing.
- Click Save.
Available options
| Option | Meaning | Recommended for |
|---|---|---|
| index, follow | Page is indexed, links are followed | All public FAQ pages (default) |
| noindex, follow | Page is not indexed, links are followed | Test pages, internal pages |
| index, nofollow | Page is indexed, links are not followed | Rarely needed |
| noindex, nofollow | Page is neither indexed nor followed | Pages to be completely hidden |
Recommendation
For most FAQ pages, index, follow is the right choice – search engines can find and index the page. Choose noindex only if a page is still being built or should not appear in search results.
