AI Assistant: create FAQ answers & FAQ sets – FAQ Manager for Shopware 6

The AI assistant helps you create FAQ content faster: generate or improve individual answers, create entire FAQ sets from a topic, a product or a URL, and translate suggestions into additional shop languages. Suggestions are always saved only after your confirmation.

Requirements

The AI assistant uses an external AI provider with your own API key. Supported:

  • OpenAI
  • Anthropic (Claude)

Privacy: When used, the entered or extracted FAQ content is sent to the selected AI provider for generation. No personal customer data is sent. Please mention this use in your privacy policy.

Setup

  1. In the admin, go to Extensions → My Extensions.
  2. For the FAQ Manager, open the Configuration via the "…" menu.
  3. In the "FAQ Manager – AI assistant" card:
    • Enable Activate AI assistant
    • Choose the provider (OpenAI or Anthropic)
    • Enter your API key
    • Optional: model, tone, temperature, max tokens, streaming
  4. Save.

Tip: Leave the Model field empty to use a cost-efficient default model of the selected provider.

Note: The AI features only appear in the admin when the AI assistant is enabled.

Generate a single answer

  1. Open or create a FAQ entry.
  2. Enter your question in the Question field.
  3. Click "Generate answer with AI".
  4. The suggestion appears in a preview (written live if streaming is enabled).
  5. Click "Apply" to insert the suggestion into the answer field – or "Discard".
  6. Review the answer and save the entry.

Improve a single answer

If you already have an answer, you can have it refined with "Improve answer" – wording, structure and readability are improved while the content is preserved. Here too, the suggestion is only applied after confirmation.

Generate FAQ sets with the AI assistant

The AI assistant lets you create multiple FAQ entries at once.

  1. In the admin, open Content → FAQ Manager → AI Assistant.
  2. Choose the source: Topic, Product or URL (see below).
  3. Set the parameters: language, number of questions (max. 10) and tone.
  4. Click "Generate FAQs" – the suggestions appear below.
  5. Review the suggestions: select or deselect individual entries, and edit question and answer inline if needed.
  6. Optionally translate into more languages (see below).
  7. Click "Save selected" – the selected suggestions are created as FAQ entries.

Source: Topic

Enter a topic as free text (e.g. "shipping and delivery times"). The AI generates matching questions and answers.

Source: Product

Select a product. Its name, description, manufacturer and properties are used as context so the FAQs match the product.

Source: URL

Enter the URL of a public web page. Its content is fetched server-side, the text is extracted and used as context for generation.

Security: Only public http/https URLs are allowed. Internal or private addresses (e.g. localhost, 192.168.x.x, 10.x.x.x) are blocked for security reasons (SSRF protection). Size and timeout limits also apply when fetching the page.

Translation

Selected suggestions can be translated into additional shop languages:

  1. Select the desired suggestions.
  2. Under "Translate into more languages", choose the target languages.
  3. Click "Translate" – the translations appear per entry.
  4. On save, the translations are stored as language translations of the FAQ entries.

Tone

Use the Default tone setting to define the style of the generated answers: neutral, friendly, concise or detailed.

Notes

  • The AI creates suggestions – check the content for accuracy before publishing.
  • Costs apply according to your AI provider's terms (minimal with the cost-efficient default model).
  • Generation and URL fetching require your server to have an outbound internet connection.
  • A maximum of 10 question/answer pairs is created per generation.
