Manage redirects – Redirect & 404 Manager
Manage redirects
Under Content → Redirect & 404 → Redirects, you'll find a list of all redirects you've created.
Columns
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Source path | The old path being redirected |
| Target URL | The destination of the redirect |
| Type | 301 or 302 |
| Active | Whether the redirect currently fires |
| Hits | How many times the redirect has been triggered since creation |
If no redirect has been created yet, the list shows the hint "No redirects created yet".
Hits as an effectiveness check
The Hits column is incremented every time the redirect fires. It's the simplest way to check whether a redirect is still needed:
- High hit count → the redirect is relevant, e.g. because an old link is still frequently linked to or requested by search engines
- Hits stay at 0 → either the old path is no longer being requested, or there's a typo in the source path (see Troubleshooting)
Editing
Open a redirect via the edit action to adjust the source path, target URL, type, or active status. Changes take effect immediately after saving.
Deactivate instead of delete
If you're unsure whether a redirect is still needed, deactivate it first using the Active toggle instead of deleting it. A deactivated redirect no longer fires, but is kept along with its hit counter and can be re-activated at any time.
Deleting
Use the delete action to remove a redirect permanently, including its hit history. This makes sense for redirects that are demonstrably no longer needed, for example because the old path hasn't been hit in years.
