Free Shipping Bar
Progress bar toward free shipping in the cart and mini cart for Shopware 6 – motivates customers to reach the shipping cost threshold.
- Version:
- v1.0.0
- Compatibility:
- SW 6.7
Welcome to Free Shipping Bar for Shopware 6!
Free Shipping Bar shows your customers, live, on the cart page and in the mini cart (offcanvas), how much order value is still needed to reach free shipping — for example "Only €12.00 left until free shipping!". Once the threshold is reached, the message switches to "Great — you get free shipping!". This creates a small but effective purchase incentive without customers having to do the math themselves.
Free Shipping Bar only displays the progress. It does not set shipping costs to €0 itself. The actual free-shipping rule must be configured in your shop via the shipping method's price matrix or a Rule Builder rule – and the threshold configured in the plugin must match that rule. If the two don't match, the bar promises something that doesn't happen at checkout.
What can the plugin do?
- Progress bar on the cart page — visible directly on the cart page
- Progress bar in the mini cart — in the offcanvas cart, toggleable independently
- Configurable threshold — the amount at which shipping should become free
- Configurable bar color — adapts to your shop design via a color picker
- Display locations controlled separately — cart page and mini cart can be switched on/off independently
- Customizable texts — both text snippets can be changed via the snippet management
- Configurable per sales channel — separate values per channel, e.g. for different currencies
How it works
The plugin is a pure Twig overlay with no data model of its own: it reads the cart's current order value (the sum of the line items excluding shipping costs), compares it to your configured threshold, and renders a progress bar with the matching text. See Threshold for calculation details.
Recommended setup flow
- Install the plugin
- Configure it — set the threshold and bar color
- Verify that the threshold exactly matches your existing free-shipping rule in the shop
- Set the display locations — cart page, mini cart, or both
- If needed, adjust styling and texts to match your theme
